Eye emergencies in Luxembourg

The Centre Ophtalmologique du Glacis welcomes adults and children with eye emergencies without an appointment during opening hours, at 7 avenue Victor Hugo, L-1750 Luxembourg City.

When to seek urgent assessment
Sudden loss of vision, severe eye pain, an injury, a chemical splash or a red eye with a change in vision requires urgent assessment. Do not wait for a reply through the contact form or WhatsApp.

During opening hours
Come directly to the centre for an eye emergency. Assessment and onward care depend on your clinical situation. For practical information, call +352 27 21 23.
Monday: 08:30–20:00
Tuesday to Friday: 08:30–17:30
Saturday: 09:00–20:00
One Sunday per month: contact the centre for the date.

Outside opening hours or for a serious emergency
Attend a hospital emergency department. For a life-threatening emergency, call 112. Sudden loss of vision or a serious eye injury must not wait until the centre reopens.

Chemical splash: immediately rinse with plenty of clean water for at least 20 minutes and seek urgent medical help. Do not try to remove an object that has penetrated the eye.
